  • Role Overview

    Senior Verification Specialist - Helsinki, Finland


    Performs complex testing tasks, requiring planning, scheduling and testing. Manages own assignments and schedule, and serves as a resource for other personnel on issues relating to verification. Assists less senior Verification Specialists on daily work. Operates under general supervision.

    Key Accountabilities/Decision Making & Influence

    • Works directly with Application Specialist personnel to deliver high quality software applications on routine and complex projects.
    • Primary responsibilities include, proactive testing, finding new problems, analyzing them, and supporting Application Specialists in corrective actions.
    • Plans, schedules and implements testing projects.
    • Defines test objectives, writes test specifications and test reports.
    • Assists less experienced Verification Specialists with difficult problems regarding testing approaches, application knowledge, and technical knowledge.
    • Improving working methods.
    • Review and approve drafts produced by the Verification Specialists.
    • Promote and maintain a high quality, professional, service-oriented company image among users.
    • Travel as necessary.
    • Other responsibilities will be assigned as required.

    Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

    • Associates Degree in engineering, information systems, business or computer science is required.
    • Minimum of five years experience in product testing environment.
    • Must have excellent testing skills and an in-depth understanding of the QA process.
    • Able to train other Verification Specialists in procedures.
    • Experienced at writing test cases and designing test systems.
    • Must provide high quality results and standards
    • Knowledge of databases, Java and SQL programming, and different wireless- PDA-, and Internet applications.
    • Able to train other Verification Specialists in procedures.
    • Able to accurately estimate task durations and meet schedules.
    • Must have excellent communication skills.
    • Must be able to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Must be a team oriented person with a “can do” attitude.
