    Director, Testing Services - Office base, Iasi Romania. Teams in Finland and Romania

     

    CRF Health is a software house operating in the Clinical Trials arena. Founded in Helsinki in 2000 we have grown to over 650 permanent employees across Finland, the US, the UK and Romania. Opening our office in Iasi in March 2017, we have now grown to over 110 personnel just in Iasi. We have various teams in place including some 30 R&D professionals. A member of the Technology Office Leadership Team, is responsible for development and management of a high-performing R&D Validation and Testing team across two countries that understands the Software validation and testing requirements, tools and processes in a regulated environment while reaching maximum velocity and high-quality standards.

     

    The role directs the company’s R&D Software and Hardware validation and testing activities.

     

    Manages the validation process and projects. Ensures their continuous improvement in terms of process, tools and methodologies, while ensuring efficient and robust business continuity by using test automation and reusable test asset in full extend when applicable.

    Directs validation and testing activities supporting continuity of the company’s technology platform.

    Ensures validation activities alignment with company’s long-term strategy, strategic programs and product roadmaps. Leads cost effective test solutions development for the current and future business solutions.

    Provides technical assistance and leadership, when necessary. Works in close co-operation with other units to maximize cross unit synergies, like efficiencies with Operations verification and Solution Architecture validation.

    Manages R&D Validation releases; their staffing, efficiency and quality. Ensures quality up-streaming to minimize non-quality cost.

    Responsibilities

    • The position owns the R&D validation and testing disciplines and processes and drives adoption of best practices through technology research, sharing experience, coaching, leadership and continuous improvement.
    • Develops and maintains best practices for different testing and verification tasks
      • Assures that the practices meet the industry, regulatory and quality standards
      • Develops practices that produce maximum quality with minimum effort to support cost efficiency and scalability
      • Thinks of minimizing the possibility of human error
      • Ensures compliance with quality management process related to R&D validation and testing
    • Manages and coordinates the development and approval of test plans, unit test reports, module test specifications, module test reports, system test specifications, system test reports, test results, test data and test evidence
    • Ensures alignment of validation and testing competences and activities with company’s long-term strategy, strategic programs and goals; and product roadmap.
    • Finds solutions for arising testing and validation needs in versatile IoT and Mobile OS environments
    • Holds R&D units accountable for on-time and in-full delivery
    • Manages personnel activities of staff, for example hiring, competence development, engagement, and performance management.
    • Travel as necessary
    • Other responsibilities will be assigned as required.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in software engineering or computer science required.  Master’s Degree is a plus.
    • Minimum of ten years technical experience in a system/solution level software testing/validation
    • Significant senior and successful experience of leading in a multisite, multinational and multi geography hi-tech sector testing/validation R&D organization and projects. Regulated industry is a plus.
    • Proven experience in leading SW testing/validation for large, company-owned products/solutions, with multi-year lifespan.
    • Excellent practical Agile SW testing/validation knowledge with modern SW testing tools.
    • Excellent organizational, leadership and communications skills.
    • Must be able to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Results-oriented person with a “can do” attitude.
