    AS Technical Lead - Hammersmith, London

     

    This position is for a Technical Lead role within the Technical Support Office (TSO) team to support the functional excellence objective. Its focus lies in: Process, Tools and Governance underpinning the delivery of functional excellence.

     

    This team supports the drive for efficiency through standardisation and improvement of consistent quality by the Application Support (AS) services delivery, in relation to the CRF Health’s phases of delivery and New Product Introduction (NPI).

     

    The TSO is to be the technical authority or Subject Matter Expert and to be the reference point for overseeing uniform practices through implementation of generic templates and standard approaches based on Therapeutic Areas and complexity of service.

     

    The role will focus on implementing efficiencies primarily through Operations and be the lead technical Applications Specialist to support the function of the TSO team. As part of the TSO team you will work with the other team members to clearly identify improvements and efficiencies and agree and plan adoption across the delivery and other service teams. The role is also responsible for defining and delivering training, through to supporting and mentoring the AS community, along with overseeing good coding practice and compliance.

     

    This role will work within the team and across Operations, Product and Service Management (PSM), BA and Health Outcomes teams and other teams as necessary to introduce absolute consistency across the new builds, without negative impact to existing delivery, and to support these teams in implementing this standardised approach for all new work through oversight and compliance checks.

     

    Additionally, this role will be required to document and monitor the effect of the standardisation and to verify the impact across the delivery life cycles. The role will also require relationship management and alignment with all process owners, business partners, technology and compliance.

     

    The ideal candidate needs to possess in-depth product knowledge and expert knowledge of user’s applications, and will provide input to members of the Technical Services teams.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with TSO across the teams to identify, document and deliver the standardisation approach(es)
      • Monitor and manage any adjustment required, where necessary.
      • Provide documentation, guidance and training to the Service Delivery teams on the standardised solution(s), ensuring that all recommendations are achievable within the scope of the product
      • Manage the communications of any variation to the approach across the delivery teams
      • Drive continual productivity improvement of application setup, maintenance and decommissioning
    • Set out the plan for introducing standardisation and identifying gaps
      • Implement templates and standards
      • Define and deliver training,
      • Support and mentoring of Applications Specialist community
      • Measure or evidence the benefit of the introduction of new standardised methods,
    • Attend, where necessary, eCOA solutions at client design review and testing (UAT) meetings at customer sites (as required) to ensure that the adopt standardisation route is appropriate
    • Provide technical leadership across the delivery teams (including guidance/training to team members and quality review)
      • Provide application specialist guidance, training and mentoring
      • Oversee good coding practice and compliance
      • Be available for technical review, consultation services and expert guidance to project teams for Complex studies
      • Review deviations from recommended practices
      • Provide a centre for feedback for the Application Specialist family
    • Support Director, Project Delivery in meeting business objectives as required
    • Promote and maintain a high quality, professional, service-oriented company image among users
    • Work with the team to provide input to R&D and Solutions Architects on product improvements and product direction
    • Work with the PMO to identify improvements in the existing templates, Standard Reports and user guides.
    • Domestic and International Travel as necessary
    • Other responsibilities will be assigned as required

    Requirements

    • Intimate understanding of CRF Health SOPs, workflows, and tools used, including TrialManager, TrialStudio, CVS, OCT. This role must be able to both identify inefficiencies, but also work with others who have ideas for process improvements and standardization. This role should be able to discuss the needs and come up with solutions to address these needs.
    • Good demonstratable experience creating reports using SQL, experience using XML. Experience in the following technologies: Java, Python, SQL, Oracle, MS SQL, SQL lite, XML, GUI experience, MS office automation (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio)
    • Extensive experience of requirement gathering and business analyst tasks for eCOA collection, reporting and data transfer.
    • Detailed demonstrable knowledge and experience of the full development life cycle
    • Evidence of the willingness and capability to share knowledge openly with others
    • Deep understanding of subject matter and industry perspectives
    • Must have thorough knowledge of the product, company policies and practices
    • Must have good communication skills.
    • Must be able to deal effectively across departments
    • Has great attention to detail and accuracy in what they do and takes pride in delivery a high-quality output
    • Excellent time management, communication, team working and organizational skills
