  • Position Summary

    The Associate Director, Business Development is responsible for directly selling CRF Health’s TrialMax portfolio and related services to a defined geographic territory of mid-market accounts and countries in the biopharmaceutical and CRO industry. This role comes about through an internal promotion.


    • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets
    • Ability to generate contacts, identify new opportunities, and close business with new pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients who have not previously worked with CRF Health
    • Generate account relationships within assigned accounts with key decision makers.
    • Initiate and manage activities that generate sales meetings and build business relationships within all target accounts in assigned geographic territory, collect and prepare relevant information for the sales process and focus on selling electronic patient diary portfolio for a variety of solutions
    • Find creative solutions to client needs where applying a combination of business, technology and scientific information is used to achieve regional and global results
    • Determine who the decision makers are within target accounts in assigned geographic territory and focus on relationship building
    • Collect and prepare relevant information for CRF Health in accordance with sales process, presentation, etc.
    • Promote and maintain a high quality, professional, service-oriented company image among potential customers and within CRF Health
    • Extensive travel required (50-75%)
    • Other responsibilities will be assigned as required
    • Ability to conduct basic eDiary demos
    • Ensure sales systems are updated continuously
    • Accurate sales forecasting and timely entry of all sales activity within NetSuite or current CRM system



    • Four year degree, University Degree
    • 3 – 5  years of  success in sales, preferably in clinical trial or related sector
    • Experience in clinical trial technology or services sales preferred
    • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical and CRO industries and relevant practices 
    • Experience with sales process requiring strong close and signed contract
    • Management of 3-6 month sales cycle
    • Comprehensive knowledge of CRF Health’s products and services
    • Understanding CRF Health’s corporate and financial objectives
    • Demonstrated ability to cultivate, understand, and anticipate the needs of the customer and to provide solutions and recommendations
    • Leadership of proposal and bid defense process (samples of meeting agendas and/or bid defense presentation requested)
    • Excellent written and communication skills  (writing samples requested)
    • Expert at quickly developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers 
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, sf.com, Power Point, Excel and other sales related tools.
    • Commitment to the sales culture and operating principles.
