This presents a unique opportunity for the right candidate to play a key part in the development of the function, to shape their own role within it and to gain experience in a diverse range of legal practice areas at the dynamic intersection between technology, healthcare and commerce.

    Legal Counsel (Europe) will be the primary source of legal advice and support for CRF Health Group’s corporate headquarters in London and its offices in Finland and Romania.  The role entails responsible for a wide variety of legal matters and projects, with the primary objectives of supporting commercial activity and strategic development while ensuring legal compliance and effective risk management. 
    The role reports to and works alongside the Group General Counsel, while working collaboratively with in-house counsel and a contracts team in CRF Health’s US office in Pennsylvania.  It will also involve regularly working with and managing an international panel of external providers.

    • Capability to calibrate legal advice based on assessment of commercial value and risk

    • Strong understanding of and interest in technology

    • Versatility and adaptability to dealing with diverse areas of law




    • General legal support across all corporate areas, working with external counsel where appropriate (e.g. commercial, corporate, intellectual property, disputes, employment, property, governance and regulatory compliance, data protection)
    • Provide expert and commercially effective advice and guidance on legal matters and ensure compliance with all relevant law and regulation.
    • Advise on corporate matters including support on transactions and company administration
    • Prepare, advise on and negotiate commercial contracts.
    • Provide support to GC, including research, preparing draft documents, analyzing and summarizing complex documents and legal issues.
    • Work collaboratively across our international offices in the USA, Finland and Romania
    • Manage, engage and develop relationships with external legal service providers domestically and internationally
    • Research, anticipate and guard the Group against legal risks
    • Assist the development and implementation of relevant company policies and initiatives
    • Develop processes for efficiency, reduction of complexity and delivering maximum business value
    • Implement Group governance and play a relevant role in ensuring the best decision-making.
    • Identify and own relationships with external law firms providing specialist advice, including performance management and budgetary control


    • At least 4 years’ relevant in-house or law firm experience covering at least one of corporate, commercial and IT/Data Privacy.  Experience in the technology and/or healthcare sectors may be an advantage but is not essential
    • Current practising certificate
    • A commercial mindset and strong understanding of how to apply legal services to deliver value in a fast-moving business environment
    • Independence and judgement, with the ability to know when to escalate and when to make hard decisions.
    • Ability to demonstrate strong legal skills, together with business acumen and a customer-focused approach
    • Analytical ability, with strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a high level of competency around negotiation and persuasive communication
    • Ability to fit in seamlessly with diverse executive and commercial teams
    • Strong IT literacy
    • Strong client management and supplier management skills
